College and Career Center

The Academic and College Counseling Center at Notre Dame Academy guides students on their academic, college, and career goals. Starting freshman year, students are assigned to the counselor who will help guide her all four years of high school. The counselors meet with their students on a regular basis, assisting them with their academic program, social emotional learning, and guidance on their college aspirations. Students in the ninth and tenth grades explore their strengths and interests, allowing them to discover potential majors and career paths. In the upper grades, students meet regularly with their counselor to discuss the college applications and admissions process. Individual meetings with parents regarding college planning are offered during the spring semester of junior year, and continue as needed during senior year. Furthermore, our counselors facilitate a two-day College Bootcamp before the start of senior year, allowing all seniors to get a head start on college applications, personal statements, and personal insight questions.

The Counseling Center uses Naviance to support students in preparing for the college application and admissions process.

With the guidance of our counselors, Naviance allows our students to:

  • Explore strengths, interests, and potential career paths
  • Manage the college process by allowing students to build a resume, track service hours, and manage timelines and important college deadlines
  • Research colleges through data analysis by comparing their GPA and SAT/ACT scores with former students, as well as national averages for each university
  • Sign up for college representative visits hosted at Notre Dame Academy

In addition, this year we are excited to introduce Canvas as part of our counseling curriculum. Canvas enables us to track students’ progress in regards to their academic needs, personal goals, and college aspirations. It allows us to further engage with our students and share updates about the ever changing college landscape.

Feel free to contact us as we are always happy to help!
